We toured Alaska for two weeks in June 2006. Our favorite place was Nome, far up on the west coast and accessible only by plane, boat and dogsled.  We started in Anchorage, headed north to Denali, back to Anchorage via a breakdown on the Denali highway, flew north to Nome, then back to Anchorage and down to Portage on the Seward peninsula for a wonderful Pelagic outing. As for Canada, we’ve been to Calgary and British Columbia in 2004, Vancouver briefly in 2005, and Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2010, including a two-week tour with Tom Hince (more on him under Resources–LINK!!)
