Marylee and I have spent many weeks in Florida, always in the winter–traffic is terrible, but the birds are wonderful.  As you’ll see we’ve been to numerous spots.  Our favorite is Fort Myers Beach, an extended island along the west coast, where we’ve usually rented an apartment overlooking Little Estero Lagoon–we can keep track of the birds from our living room.  It’s a long page; I wanted to include as many species as possible.  Spots with “Wetlands” in their name are usually converted sewage treatment areas–an attractive feature for birding in Florida.
